I was thence excited to bring my mom inwards town for a see together with to present her roughly the many reasons why I dear Japan. The ii of us headed downwardly to Harajuku on her get-go Sun hither together with loved wandering this lively area. The develop station was abnormally busy, it was absolutely trunk to body. But, the Japanese are real orderly, no pushing or shoving, but politely exiting.
Our get-go (of many) grapheme sightings. Watch out Matt! (I truly constitute out that this grapheme phenomenon has a name- yuruchara, or soft characters. They stand upward for everything nether the sun, I bring no stance what this 1 was selling. There is fifty-fifty a yuruchara grand prix competition. Future blog?)
This Earth absolutely revere's Hello Kitty. This trolley was but exterior the station, blasting cute music, together with was of class surrounded past times a paparazzi of sorts!
Crazy!
If you lot are inwards require of a tiger backpack, you lot know who to call.
We together with thence walked over to the famous Meiji Shrine. It was such a beautiful day, but perfect weather.
We saw LOTS of ladies inwards kimono,
together with 3 dissimilar brides. This was the first. Check out her elaborate hairstyle. She too had the virtually ornate kimono, amongst the reds together with golds. Gorgeous!
This was the minute bride. Also, thence beautiful.
On the 3rd bride, nosotros were able to sentinel the entire marriage ceremony procession. This is a traditional Shinto marriage ceremony kimono, amongst the hood.
Call me traditional, but I am non a fan of the bee-bop downwardly the aisle/gimmicky weddings that are thence pop now. The beauty of this marriage ceremony procession was in it's simplicity and reserved respect for the magnitude of the occasion.
This was a care for to watch.
Here comes the bride......
Even the guests were inwards black, real reserved, clothing. No 1 was trying to out-do the bride, or depict whatever attending to themselves.
This is the large courtyard of the shrine itself.
This is the gate but exterior the shrine.
And roughly other lovely daughter inwards a kimono.
I am thence glad my mom was able to encounter this minor glimpse into Japanese culture. More of our wonderful see to come!
